We are locals of Aspen and visit Elevation from time to time. On a recent visit, i was very disappointed. The scene was quaint and atmosphere was very lively. The service was fine, however the food prepartion for my dishes was a lack luster performance. My wife ordered the scallops and i the lamb meatballs for an appetizer. Though her scallops were quite delicious, my meatballs were burned on one side and then flipped down to cover the mistake. I cut off the burnt portion and ate the rest of the meatballs, thinking i was being a good patron. Though when i pointed it out to the waiter, no one said anything. Not the manager, not the chef, not the waiter. Our entrees came, my wife had the trout which was prepared nicely, however i ordered the Alaskian Halibut $37. It arrived over cooked. Again thinking i am being a good customer, i said nothing and ate half of it; cutting off the over cooked portion. I left a medium size tough piece of Halibut to be seen on the plate. We were asked how the meals were by the waiter, i responded with a shrug and a "ok." Perhaps i should have been more vocal. It is unfortunate that the consistancy of the this establishment is under par. As a local i try to support local buisness, however this spot may be off the list for a bit.

Had a wonderful meal and great service. Our waitress was helpful and nice. She recommended the tomato sampler - do not miss this dish it's awesome. We also had the lobster salad and the black cod. We will defiantly be back!

A friend and I recently ate at Elevation, which we hadn't been to in over a year. As it was off season downtown Aspen was pretty quiet and we easily found a seat at the bar. We both were craving fish, so I had the trout ($24) while my friend had the Wasabi Caesar with Salmon ($15). The service was excellent and the food was top notch. By the time we left the bar lounge was packed.

We were in town for the Women's World Cup, and chose Elevation from the list for the Bud Light Dine Around...normally they have a fixed price menu for the evening in several restaurants. Since we didn't order drinks (we don't drink) we were pretty much ignored and treated as if we were pond scum. We won't go back. Ever.

The food was wonderful, if a bit on the salty side. What really sunk the meal was the poor service. When we were seated there was no mention of the prix fixe dinner, so we inquired. The waiter was less than enthusiastic with our question. My husband ordered a scotch and I had a glass of Pinot noir - once finished we were never asked if we wanted another. After 2 tables who were seated after us had received their dinners, I enquired about ours to be told that my husbands chicken dish took longer, a fact which could have been mentioned up front. When the check was brought we had to ask for a refill of our water glasses which had been empty for over 20 minutes. By this time we were so disgusted with the poor service the experience was ruined. The restaurant Is well appointed, the food very satisfying. The service needs work.

We ate at Elevation while in Aspen for some spring skiing and the food and service was great. They have a special discounted spring menu right now, but the portions were still average-large and the meal was great.
