Three stars for the food..... hearty and delicious. Not a huge menu or gourmet by any means like you expect in Aspen but....... It has they most amazing view a little gondola ride up to the to of Ajax/Aspen Mountain and you get a 360 degree view of the surrounding valleys and peaks. Today was a gorgeous day with about 70-75 degrees at the summit and only a small breeze. which brings us to the extra star. Food ordered: 1. Delicious veggie sandwich well marinated and flavorful. 2. Fresh made to order green leaf (not Romain or iceberg :) ) salads 3. Turkey/Bacon Club - crispy bacon and delicious hearty grilled bread. I imagine the restaurant to be an even better treat during the winter... where you can come in and defrost before hitting the slopes another time. In this respect is also one of classiest decorated on the slopes eatery I have ever seen. (However I come from the smaller slopes in the Sierras.) Enjoy the breath taking view and food.

The skiing was pretty good today for early season, the early morning groomers were great. Had a light lunch at the Sundeck. A bowl of the Cauliflower and Stilton soup. To intriguing to not try. It was a purred cauliflower with hints of the stilton cheese. The soup was more cauliflower than stilton leaving it a little lacking without the proper spice to zip it up. Could have used a touch more stilton and pepper perhaps, or even green chilis. Better luck next time......

Had lunch at the Sundeck while skiing Ajax yesterday. Ordered the Veggie Soba noodles from the Wok station. I added a little spice with the bottle of Sarracha on hand. The noodle bowl was really tasty and filling. Aspen Mountain prices, but can't beat the Sundeck's great views, huge ceilings, and hanging by the fireplace. Fortune cookie read, "All good things rise to the top"
