Pretty good food, but there seems to be a lot of mistakes with the preparation. Half the time you ask for "hot', it is blend as it can be.

Tonight was carry out: Panang curry medium spicy and Pad Thai. And the Fresh Rolls with real peanut sauce - yum! Consistently good quality and much like the same dishes in Thailand. Dined twice inside the restaurant and found table servers very friendly. Okay, last winter there was some staff stress and long waits for carry out. But hey, give them another try and you'll find a seasoned crew and fresh, tasty, quality food.

This place has great food, but the service is absolutely terrible. The person on the phones is either a clueless woman who tells you 15 minutes when it takes closer to an hour, or a terribly rude man who seems to be inconvenienced by every call. The delivery driver is useless, and will demand a tip from you even if they messed up the order. The only saving grace is that the food is excellent.

Bangkok Happy Bowl opened for business six months ago in what used to be a sleepy storefront in the Puppy Smith Mall, across from Clark's Market. It is the offspring of the Wild Bangkok Bar, a popular Thai restaurant in Denver. Aspen desperately needed a Thai restaurant. For years, Aspenites have been traveling all the way down to Phat Thai in Carbondale for their Thai fix. Mind you, Phat Thai is a much more posh dining experience than Bangkok Happy Bowl, where the ambiance is most decidedly basic. A full bar dominates this intimate restaurant, which has a handful of tables as well as some outdoor seating. It's a homey, unpretentious joint, a good choice for the solo diner who wants a quick, well-priced meal and absolutely no scene. Skip the fried appetizers and order a fresh papaya salad or the spicy Thai beef salad, flecked with slivers of red onion. The chicken satay appetizer is fantastic. The entree selection includes a wide range of curry bowls, the most popular items on the menu. The green curry is the best of the lot- a creamy, basil infused curry that is incredibly satisfying. In spite of the creamy texture, the curry uses no dairy products. It's excellent with chicken, but equally good with shrimp or tofu. The Bangkok bowl, vegetables and meat over rice, is an excellent non-curry alternative. Order the Beef Boat bowl if you are really hungry. And, of course, the Pad Thai, a Thai standard, delivers a sweet and salty punch. It's an extra bonus that many menu items are gluten-free and surprisingly healthy. This is a mecca for vegetarians, who will be able to find meat-free menu options without sacrificing taste. Open for lunch and dinner, Bangkok Happy Bowl does a busy takeout business at lunchtime and in the evening and offers free delivery. Read more reviews by William

I love this place. I eat here about three times a week, the food is fresh, delicious, and affordable. Call ahead for take out, they get really really busy because it's really really good! I don't know how Marty handles the incredible volume of orders he has to process. While I sometimes have to wait for my food because everyone else in town has discovered this gem, it's ALWAYS worth the wait. All the servers are incredibly polite, and the food just rocks.

I'm addicted! And very lucky to live just a couple blocks from this delicious addition to Aspen's food scene. My favorite? The pad thai with chicken -- SPICY! Fantastic every time. We waited years for a dedicated Thai restaurant in town. On the busy days, the short wait is SO WORTH IT. Now they have a great bar so grab a beer while your fresh meal is being prepared. I love to call in for pick-up on my way in from the airport. It's a great "welcome home" meal. I'm craving it just writing this. YUM!

Food and service, this place is outstanding. One of the cheaper places in Aspen. The Rama Bowl in particular is excellent. The guy below me, who got messed up service, must have had a weird experience, because every time I've gone here, the staff has been unfailingly polite. Also, it bears repeating, the food is delicious delicious delicious.

Have to agree with what the previous reviewer has said. This place is the greatest! Not being familiar with Thai food my husband and I decided to give it a try on a recent visit. Not only was the food fantastic but the service was even better. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Aspen.

I've ordered food from Bangkok Happy Bowl several times since they opened this winter. The food is always delicious, but the service is always horrible. I usually go several weeks between orders because I'm so perturbed by the rudeness of the man who always answers the phone. I've waited over 90 minutes to pick up an order, shown up when the estimated wait time was only 30 minutes to have to stand awkwardly in the cramped restaurant while I wait an additional 20 minutes for my food to be ready, and on the rare occasions I'm not there the second my food is ready I receive a rude phone call from the guy who took my order simply shouting "YOUR FOOD IS READY!" But I always give them another chance because I love the food. The most recent example of poor service happened not to me, but to my boyfriend. He ordered some food to go, and noticed that the order was missing an item. Instead of apologizing for the mistake that he made and promising to have it made quickly, the order-taker snidely told him he'd have to wait until all the other orders they were working on were complete, a wait he estimated at 20-30 minutes. This is completely unacceptable and takes poor customer service to a whole new level. I won't be ordering from this restaurant again until the owner replaces the phone order guy with someone who isn't a grinch.

My family and I have eaten at at Bangkok Happy Bowl many times because it across from where I work. We always order four Pad Thai's, 1 chicken, 1 beef, and 2 with tofu. We have never been disappointment. Last week was the first time we ordered take out. From the other reviews, we figured it would take a long time. However, our food was ready in twenty minutes. We always finish our meal with coconut rice. The value for the food couldn't be better. If we could eat out more, we would definitely eat at Bangkok Happy Bowl more.

We just got delivery from Bangkok Happy Bowl ordering the Drunken Noodles with tofu ($9.95) and the Green Curry with Tofu ($11.95). They were both delicious. The Curry transported me temporarily back to Thailand (ahh the memories) & I can't wait to order the Drunk Noodles again. We also finished with the coconut rice, which is a sweet treat. Overall the entire order came to $30 with tip. We timed our delivery & although the estimated delivery time was 45 minutes it did take a bit longer but not outrageous. Seems to be the result of the overwhelming popularity of a Thai restaurant in Aspen, so order with time to spare. Great value for my money. I will definitely dine again in the near future.

The food was wonderful, but the delivery service was horrible. I ordered dinner over the phone around 6PM, and the delivery didn't show up until 8:45PM. I called several times to make sure my order was still coming, and each time I was told it was "up next". The delivery driver didn't try to apologize, but told me I should order earlier than dinner rush hour. I told him I ordered at 6PM on my way home from work, and his only response was "oh!" Poor service, but good food. **Restaurant Response** Thank you for ordering from Bangkok Happy Bowl and taking the time to provide a review. Glad that you enjoyed the food and I apologize for the delivery delay. We have hired additional staff to enhance our delivery service. - Kirk (owner)

I ordered the cashew nut chicken to go and it had ZERO chicken in it. I'm not going to check every order when I do take-out and I don't have time to walk back. It is their responsibility that the food goes out correct. Big foul. **Restaurant Response** Thank you for your comments. Sorry that the chicken was missing from your entree. If we make a mistake on an entree, we will happily deliver the corrected entree to you. - Kirk (owner)

Very dissapointing...food was very poor, the special for 18.99 had just a few pieces of seafood, wondering if they ran out. The pad thai tasted like something was burned in the food and noodles way overcooked, sticky in very small pieces. Waiting so long just to place the order, not talking about until pick up. Will never go back unless something changes to better food at least, I could manage the time. **Restaurant Response** Thank you for dining with us and taking the time to write a review. You visited shortly after we opened and your comments were helpful. - Kirk (owner)

Great tasting food and the price is very reasonable. It did take 45 minutes to an hour for take-out (but they are new and I think that will work itself out in no time) But definitely worth checking out. **Restaurant Response** Thanks for ordering with us and writing a review. We are happy that enjoyed our food. We have hired additional Thai chefs and our take away and delivery time frames have consistently shortened since opening. - Kirk (owner)

The food was sooooooo good here. We had the red curry with beef, drunken noodles with tofu and veggie fried rice and they were all delicious. The downside is that we had to wait an hour to get our take out. We ordered at 6 pm and our food came out at 7pm. There were several people in the restaurant who were vocal about their dissatisfaction with the service, but oh the food. For us it was worth the wait. **Restaurant Response** Thank you for dining with us and taking the time to write a review. We very much appreciate your enjoyment of the food and are glad to hear that it was worth the wait-we were brand new at that time and, we have expanded out team to expedite for our customers. - Kirk (owner)
