You may already be aware of “Jour de Fête”, the Deli snuggled next to the Grog Shop and City Market, but if you have somehow missed Olivier’s little jewel, put it on your list.  Olivier Mottier is originally from Thônes, a small mountain town in the Alps. While living in Lake Tahoe he was searching for something a little more like home and found Aspen in 1984.  It wasn’t until 1988 that he first opened Jour de Fête, which he ran happily and successfully until he sold it in 1997. Afterwards he found himself catering and managing several restaurants in town but was always reminded by old customers how much they missed Jour de Fête which had since closed. The space that originally held Jour de Fête hadn’t seen much success since Olivier had sold and when it again found itself empty Olivier seized the opportunity and recreated Jour de Fête on July 4th 2005.  A fitting opening day since “Jour de fête” translates as “festival day” or “day of the feast”.

Jour de Fête is casual mostly take-out offering sandwiches, side salads, and plenty of things to feast on in the Deli Case.  The Deli Case is Olivier’s crowd pleaser reminiscent of “Mom’s Kitchen”, were patrons pick and choose from items such as Roasted Turkey with Penne Pasta, Meat Loaf with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Veggie Lasagna, and many other daily offerings. In the morning Olivier also offers fine Coffee, Pastries, Croissants, and Breakfast Burritos. Serving wine from Woody Creek Cellars to accompany your meal there or at home through a tasting license that just so happens to make it one of the only places you can pick up a bottle of wine on Sundays.

Stop in for Breakfast before you hit the hill or the office, take a break for Lunch, or grab an early Dinner to take back home. Tell Olivier I said Hello.
