Kim Moore is Aspen Life Director with The Aspen Club & Spa, where she oversees healthy living programs and retreats.  A 15-year valley resident, Kim serves as a big buddy with The Buddy Program and is the membership chair of the Aspen Young Professionals Association. Kim can you plan your next group retreat.

 1. Kim, you’ve been in town for how long? How has the restaurant scene changed?

I moved to the valley in 93.  I lived in the Carbondale area until 2004 when I traded in my river house for a little condo in Aspen.  The restaurant scene has changed drastically in Carbondale.  Six89 was (and still is, in my opinion) the most exceptional restaurant down valley; now, there are quite a few amazing restaurants from Carbondale to Aspen.  I still go there when my posse will go below the roundabout for special dinners.  As far as Aspen goes, the restaurant scene changes monthly, but there’s never a shortage of great options.

2. What is your favorite place to have drinks after work? Why?

When I go for drinks after work, which isn’t that often, I like Cantina or Sky.  I do like the bar menus almost everywhere.  It’s more fun, less expensive and I get to patronize place where I might not spring for dinner.

 3. What is your favorite restaurant?

Takah Sushi.  It’s fun, delicious and everyone’s happy to serve you.  Six89 in Carbondale.  The food has taste in every way.

4. I heard you were able to go to food and Wine this year, what was it like?

It’s basically a big party.  I’m not impressed with the patrons, but very impressed with the volunteers and the show that Aspen does so well.

5. Does the Aspen Club and Spa have a nutritionist?

No.  Our personal trainers are very knowledgeable but  are bound by ethics to limit their advising to the food pyramid.  Dr. Brown, our Chiropractor is launching a nutrition program.
