We held a food tasting at Bad Billy’s Restaurant & Bar in Aspen, Colorado to help launch an Aspen Tasting Team for TasteCasting.  We had the opportunity to try a lot of the food and left with a great impression and can easily recommend a meal there for anyone looking for a casual affordable restuarant in Aspen.  These plates made up opur second course.

Bad Billy's Fish&Chips

Bad Billy's Fish&Chips

The Shiner Bock Tempura Fish and Chips $9.50 is a good size portion served with fries at a great price.  The tempura batter adds a light crispiness to the traditional Fish Fry.

Bad Billy's Burger

Bad Billy's Burger

The Bad Billy Burger is a 1/2 pound USDA Beef served with fries $9.95 (may be substituted w/ garden burger if preferred) and is offered with all the additions that we like.  Add American, blue, cheddar, or swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, bacon, jalapenos, grilled onions, guacamole, or bbq sauce for $.75 each

Dessert Bites

Nice surprise to end the meal was the Dessert Bites.  Small squares of warm brownies and deep fried cheese cake served with a raspberry sauce.  Tasty…

Good Tasting at Bad Billy’s

We had a food tasting at Bad Billy’s Restaurant and Bar in Aspen Colorado today to help launch Aspen TasteCasting. The day was one of those cool sunny, misty/rainy days. We grabbed a table just inside of the patio. It was a great spot to sit that still gave away those great Aspen Mountain views.

We were a small group of 5 and shared 7 different plates.

Starting with the Deep Fried Pickles, which althoughBad Billy's Pickles Aspen may sound strange to the uninitiated, get better every time you have one. A whole pickle is sliced in rounds, breaded, and dropped in the deep fryer. Server with a homemade ranch that seemed a little southwestern. $7

Wedge Salad

Wedge Salad

Next up was the Wedge Salad (iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, applewood smoked bacon, homemade blue cheese dressing) $9

Noodle Bowl

Noodle Bowl

3rd was the Noodle Bowl with Red Curry, Tofu, Veggies, and wide rice noodles. $9.95

That’s the first course. I will be back with the second. Until then check out Bad Billy’s Menu.
