Did not meet expectations. Wine and food pairings were excellent yet chicken and dumplings was uninteresting and sole was slightly undercooked. Chicken pate excellent as were pasta dishes. Waiter perhaps too attentive. If they say "we've picked a wonderful table for you" on arrival, this is code for the opposite.

Fantastic food and they have mainly chef specials on the menu. Very professional service. A great place to celebrate something special. The restaurant looks a bit old fashioned, but the food is gorgeous.

My boyfriend and I had breakfast at Montagna for my birthday about a month ago. I cannot begin to say how incredibly delicious the biscuits and gravy were. It was probably a combination of being giddy because of my birthday, having a day off of work, being seated in the sunshine, and heading out to ski Ajax, but I can honestly say I have never had such tasty gravy accompanied with such light, pillowy biscuits. With about a liter of coffee, orange juice, good conversation and the morning paper, I was on Cloud Nine. It was a pricy breakfast ($60 for two without a Bloody Mary!) but well worth the price given the occasion.

We were a party of five and each of us was impressed and pleased with our evening at Montagna. The waitstaff is highly professional, the menu is filled with great choices, and the wine list is encyclopedic. Everything we ordered, the salads, pastas and entrees were expertly prepared and cooked perfectly. We could only get a 6:15 reservation, but our leisurely dinner lasted til 9, and no one rushed us, removed plates before everyone had finished eating or slapped a check on the table until we asked for it. (If you wanted to finish dinner in less than 2 hours, I am sure the staff would oblige.) Yes, it is expensive, but you will not be disappointed.
