My 'bro' and I were strolling through town, taking it on one tourist at a time, when the ultimate smell wafted into our noses. Fresh baked pizza. Following the scent, we were led to a small stairway just past the fountains in the Hyman Mall. Gazing up, we saw the smiling face of an Italian man looking down upon us with the words New York Pizza underneath him. Continuing up the darkened stairway, we were surrounded by tons of posters advertising various events taking place throughout the valley. This was clearly a very well connected restaurant. We stepped through a thoroughly sponsored door and were faced with a glorious sight. Pizza. Large, freshly made, pizza just waiting to be heated to perfection. A large friendly wooden sign clearly identified the prices. With a large amount of choices including a variety of salads, calzones, and sandwiches, I chose to go for the classic slice of pepperoni. For $6.00 I could get a slice of pizza and a large drink. Great deal for a kid on a budget! A very friendly, hip young woman greeted me with a smile. I gave her my order and she quickly grabbed a slice of pepperoni out of the glass case and stuck it in the oven. They don't take debit or credit cards so I gave her some cash. She handed me my cup and receipt. My friend wasn't hungry so we headed towards the back. They had some nice tables set up, including a small bar like area facing out towards the windows with a great view looking out onto the mall. We sat at the adjacent bar facing the T.V. (where else?). Five minutes later my piping hot pizza was ready. The pizza slice was massive, about the size of the paper plate it was laying on. I carefully walked back to our spot, the appetizing aroma filling my nose. I folded it to make it more manageable and took a bite. All of their pizza is thin crust, which with this large of a slice is perfect. The pizza started with a soft crunch, which led to a nice tangy parmesan and spicy pepperoni. It started out as a light meal, but by the end of the slice, I was just beginning to get full, which is nice because I left satisfied, not hungry or bloated. It is a hip, cool "joint" and is a fun place to hang out with friends - 5 stars there. The Pizza was great. It is quick, easy, and cheap. A high 4 out of 5 stars though, because 5 stars should be reserved for something absolutely amazing. (This is pretty close). 5 out of 5 on the value, and the service was fast and quite friendly. Overall New York Pizza is a great local hangout, and I will be returning for sure. Read more reviews by Emery

Although it looked like an average pizza there was a perfect crispy crust hidden underneath the top notch cheese. Very quick service was perfect for our busy night.

New York Pizza is hands down the best local pizza West of NYC! Whether Aspen or El Jebel NYP will satisfy your hunger without breaking the bank. From delicious pizza & great beer selection to the best Philly in town plus fries, wings & HDTV this establishment has proven its worth for 20 years. Enjoy, I do.

Small indoor upstairs eatery. Casual, Comfortable, and Beers on Tap. Serving a mix of Pizza offerings, Italian goodies like Meatball or Chicken Parm subs, and Salads. I've had some great New York style pizza here. I usually end up ordering by the slice which the selection is varied enough enough to keep it interesting. There is a small dining room with a few T.V.'s. but I usually take a walk either unto the mall or a park around the corner. Serves lunch and dinner pretty consistently. Almost the only late night eatery option serving past 2am in the heart of the season. Late night can be quite a scene with the line stretching down the stairs and onto the mall.

The first time we ordered in New York Pizza one of our chicken pizza failed to arrive with chicken. We decided to give them a second chance and were met with unnecessarily rude and indignant service. We were then informed that we were being done a service and must tip the driver well. Such terrible service does not deserve our or your patronage.

After several days worth of disappointing meals in Aspen, this place was the highlight. We grew up on Chicago-style pizza and consider any good pizza our favorite comfort food. New York Pizza was absolutely yummy! The decor is funky (and the place not just a little dirty). We'd recommend ordering a pizza for take-out, as it's quite crowded and loud (we listened to at least half a CD of Beastie Boys while waiting). It took about 25 mins. and $20 for a large, one-topping pizza. The pizza came out steaming and made it to our hotel several blocks away at just the right temperature.

Last night I was rushing to catch a flick at the Wheeler and popped into NY Pizza. Hoping to grab a slice, eat quickly and go to the film, I was quite disappointed. The counter help was surly and un-responsive, the selection of slices all appeared cold and past their born-on dates. When I inquired "how long for a pepperoni slice?" the clerk said " twenty minutes". Just a thought, but if a pizza place is going to charge $5 for a slice, wouldn't it be nice if they had one ready, or at least "almost" ready.
