This was my first time to Wood Creek Tavern. I had heard a lot about it and was not disappointed. The place is supper quirky and the waitress are efficient and down to earth. We sat outside under the tarps, so it was not too hot. We started out with the shrimp ceviche, guacamole and chips. It was so tasty and came out fast! I had the special huevos rancheros and it was perfect. I can't wait to eat there again. Don't forget to check out the inside as there are photos everywhere, supper cool! And they only take cash, so come prepared. If you don't, they do have an ATM.

The talapua taco fresh, tasty and hot. The chicken enchilada with beans, rice and small salad excellent ingredients well seasoned and hot. Service was rapid with a friendly down home atmosphere. Worth the trip to witness the local history pasted on the walls.

This out-of-the-way nook is the best kept secret in Aspen. The service is personable and the atmosphere is a quirky nod to small-town America. The food is what one would expect from a tavern. The portions are large and the menu features plenty of fried options. The food always tastes fresh and you will never feel rushed to order or eat, even on a busy day. Bring your friends, order a beer, and settle in for delicious comfort food. Warning: BRING CASH. This is a cash-only restaurant.
