French Alpine Bistro

My friend and I were looking for a light meal. We shared a argula salad with a light vignagrette and fresh goat cheese. Yummy! Then I had Crepe Ratatoulie which was great and my friend the French Onion Soup. A little spendy but good for Aspen.

I live in Aspen and so appreciate a place to eat a wonderful light meal later in the evening and where the atmosphere is more cozy, lacks the granite top hard edge look and has a traditional European Refuge atmosphere. The place was swamped the first month or two this winter and perhaps service was slow but that has been remedied and the menu is consistently improving (more vegetarian choices) as it the flavor and consistency of the crepes. Just love to go here and the outside seating is a plus. Le Creperie du Village has also taken to becoming involved in local events and causes and contributes enthusiastically to the esprit of Aspen.

I have lived in Aspen for 4 years and even though we have so many restaurants, very few of them I actually enjoy going to. Honestly, they tend to be overpriced or not that great of both. The Creperie is my fav. spot in town; lot's of chilled out locals, great atmosphere, awesome music, good wine and delicious and fresh food.Go here!

Creperie du Village is a wonderful spot in Aspens centre because of its really excellent food, its unique atmosphere with the amazing design - inside and outside - and the friendly service. So it has become my favourite place during my stay at Aspen. I dropped in as often as possible: for early and late lunch, for a fine dinner before or after the concerts of Aspen Sommer Music Festival often accompanied by a glass of red wine. It's also nice to have a coffee break at this charming and comfortable place. The choice of savory and sweet crepes there is overwhelming and each of them I had was so delicious and so tasty: The Nirwana with the chicken curry, The French Connection with its tender beef,...and for my late dinner I was so happy with the vegetarian really light and fine seasoned Ratatouille Crepe. I also liked the side salads. With the sweet ones I did "fall in love" with The Big Apple and the Schokoladepalatschinke. But you shouldn't miss all the other menu items: So having Raclette should be a Must, too. I enjoyed this Special with the gourmet cheese at the lovely outside sunset place on my last evening. It was soo fantastic. Don't forget to try the superb French Onion Soup and the fabulous Quiche! My favourite salad was the Acrobat Salad with the truffled goat cheese. A very fine and surprisingly light meal - I hadn't expected at all- was the Cheese Fondue. I loved the food so much that I am, back home now, still longing for all the various marvellous dishes.

My boyfriend and I were looking to enjoy brunch in a restaurant we had not already been to after frequenting Aspen on vacation our entire lives. We decided to sit outside on the beautiful patio of Creperie du Village, only to sit down on soaking wet chair cushions which soaked our pants and have the waitress tell us 'Oh yeah, we didn't take our cushions in last night.' Ok, fine, no big deal. We sit on the bench outside and wait for 10 minutes for our waitress to come back and take our drink order. 10 minutes later our cocktails return and are just fine. We then order some soup and a crepe. 30 minutes later our soup comes out - cold. We send our soup back to be reheated. Another 30 minutes our crepe and soups come out. In between we are out of water and haven't seen our waitress the entire time. Our soup and crepe were decent, nothing to go back for. But the service was so inattentive, nothing like we have experienced in the majority of restaurants in Aspen. I really wanted to like Creperie du Village and the decor is fabulous, but the average food and terrible service makes me wonder how they will survive in Aspen.

An unique place with amazing food that keeps getting better. Bringing vibrancy and tradition at the same time.

I was in Aspen for few days with my friend , we were looking around for nice spot to eat , when we were attracted by the amazing interior design outside of the Creperie du Village . And when we went inside it was even better . We enjoyed the ambiance as well as the food and the wine .

This place is killer. The atmosphere is cozy, inviting, warm and the food is great. There is quite a bit on the menu other than crepes, and they are open late night, giving another option to the popcorn wagon or new york pizza. I'm stoked about this place!

I am enthusiastic to write a rewiew about the only and unique Creperie in Aspen. There is a relaxed and fun atmosphere, yet one could also call it romantic, as they have real candles on the tables - something that is hard to find these days. The food is excellent: many different crepes, French sandwiches and salads. It is the only place in Aspen that serves fondue and raclette! A large choice of good wines and other drinks!!!! I could enjoy great food and drinks there without breaking my wallet. The service was fast and friendly and I didn't have to wait a long time. During my last visit to Aspen I had lunch there a few times and also dinner on a couple of occasions, as the opening hours of the Creperie are very accommodating: they serve food from 11.00 am until past midnight. I enjoyed sitting on the beautiful patio and their street bar is a great people watching stop. Looking for a great table to see the sunset in Aspen? Get the corner one on street level and watch the sundown from there with a bottle of rose and some Creperie specialities. When in Aspen, then a visit to "Creperie du Village" is a must!

La Creperie Du Village has character. Its decor is a stimulating blend of French Bohemian, the waitresses are mainly Australian and will sometimes treat you to an ambiguous Aussie slang term, and the dish names and descriptions often require a leap of faith by the customer. It's a place to go if you're feeling fun, exotic, and adventurous. It's a fairly new restaurant, having just opened last fall. Located beneath Radio it provided an interesting twist on a classic crepe take out wagon, and a sit-down restaurant. They have a long menu of sweet and savory crepes and a section at the end where you can make your own. The savory crepes are mostly in the $13-18 range, and the sweet $7-$10. It might seem a little steep for crepes, but they are all good quality crepes, and filling enough. The Creperie is a very apres ski sort of hangout. Outside the restaurant there are a couple wooden tables where you can sit and catch some lazy afternoon rays. The pillows are warm from a day in the sun, and the ivy hanging down the brick walls, although fake, gives off an English afternoon teatime vibe. Inside there are subdued candlelit nooks, surrounded by curtains and European posters and pictures. It looks cramped at first glance, but by the time you get settled in a more appropriate word comes to mind, intimate. It's a little corner of Europe situated in the middle of Aspen. There are simply no other restaurants that look like it, and it makes you feel glamorous. La Creperie preserved the small crepe wagon feel by staying true to the classics. All favorites like the Menage a Trois (butter, lemon, and sugar), and The Nutella are on the menu. However, there are also creative dishes that add some sit-down class, like the Ratatouille crepe, or Nirvana Crepe (chicken curry with carrots, celery, pineapple, and ginger). These crepes are all good, but it doesn't stop there. The Creperie has meat and cheese boards, soups, sandwiches, and some of the best salads I've ever had. My personal favorite, dubbed Acrobat, is a goat cheese and pear salad with truffle oil and lavender dressing. It is to die for. The pears are ripe and sweet and complement the goat cheese beautifully. The croutons are really thin crispy bread strips with goat cheese spread on top, all lightly sprinkled with lavender truffle dressing and walnuts. It's beyond delicious and puts up a good fight against any of the crepes. If I were to go for a savory and sweet crepe combo I would have the Ooh La La and Made in Heaven crepes. The Ooh La La is, shockingly, a house made mac and cheese crepe with truffle oil. It sounds weird, but trust me it's delicious. The Made in Heaven has nutella, chocolate ganache, and shredded coconut. It's filling comfort food with exotic European tastes mixed in. It's a perfect meal to split with someone. I've been to the Creperie multiple times. Every time has been a different experience. The little room transforms during the day and the crepes seem to taste different according to the mood of the restaurant. A lot of the time it was sublime, and sometimes it was a miss. Stunning atmosphere, cosy and warm. The food is incredible and great for a cold winters day.A definite must visit on a trip to Aspen, I would recommend it any day of the week

We finally had a chance to visit the new Creperie Du Village restaurant in Aspen. It was a beautiful 50 degree March spring day so we ate outside in their little courtyard patio. We both ordered sweet crepes. I had the special, Schokoladepaiat ($11.50) and my boyfriend had the Crepe Suzette ($12.25). My chocolate crepe, made with dulce de leche, strawberries & bananas, was delicious & I enjoyed every bite. I did, however, finish my crepe by the time my boyfriend's Crepe Suzette arrived. The atmosphere & decor was lovely. Our waitress was very nice & accommodating. Overall our bill was $32 which was reasonable for Aspen. Next time we must try their savory crepes.

I have loved and enjoyed crepes for as long as I can remember and I was just as enthusiastic as any of you about trying one of Aspen's newest restaurant. Even when I saw the cost of the crepe I ordered, the French Connection, I did not waiver. I was so hungry that I opened the crepe up to eat it on the drive back to work and...WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?!? The crepe looked like someone took a can of Chunky soup and poured it over a dry crepe. Not good, nothing good about it at all. Honestly I would have been better off eating my $17.00. My advice to potential diners at this place, resist the temptation and move on to some place else. **Restaurant Response** We are truly sorry your experience at the Creperie did not meet your expectations. Some of our gourmet crepes differ from what customers might be familiar with when buying crepes at take-out places or street wagons. Our "French Connection" is one of them: It holds a French Beef Bourguignon Stew which is freshly prepared every day and made with tender beef, carrots, celery, olive oil, red wine and fresh herbs, such as rosemary & thyme. It has been one of our best selling crepes since opening day! Hence, we also offer many classic crepe choices for the more traditional crepe aficionados, such as "The Classic" (Double Cheeseand Ham) or the alltime favorite "Sweet Dreams" (Nutella, Banana,Strawberries) - just to name a few. Had a ratatouille crepe for a late lunch. The restaurant was surprisingly busy given that it was mid-afternoon. The presentation of the crepe and the side salad was impressive, and the food was delicious. Servers were a little harried, probably because there were so many diners. My only criticism is the price - warranted perhaps only if a full salad or other side was included.

Tried the mushroom crepe for lunch. The mushrooms were barely cooked, and the dish as whole couldn't have had any seasoning at all. Aside from being welcomed coming in the door the service was about as warm as the barely cooked mushrooms in my crepe. I know that in a new establishment there are always kinks to be worked out, also opening for the most part during the christmas/new years rush isn't an easy task either. So with that in mind I am not completely turned off from my experience, and I do see trying it again. Just not anytime soon. Had lunch there, I got the mushroom crepe and my husband had the club. Both were excellent, the hot chocolate was the real thing and so yummy. Great atmosphere, very cozy, staff was attentive and nice. Defiantly going again soon, Gotta try the dessert.
