The atmosphere and decor are beautiful. The service was outstanding. This is a great addition to Aspen. There has been nothing original in a long time in the town. This place is unique to Aspen and would hold its own in any major city in the States.
February 5, 2010 Overall Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gisella is a fabulous italian restaurant on Main St. The atmosphere is upscale, sleek, attractive and comfortable. The chandeliers, wall coverings, etc are unique in Aspen. My husband and I had a delicious dinner here, our second this year. The italian menu is terrific with many Northern italian specialties. My husband had the filet mignon which was done perfectly accompanied by flavorful butternut squash. I had rack of lamb with a delicous polenta square. The tirmisu for dessert is to die for! There are also many pasta items on the menu. Gisella has a good selection of fine wines by the glass. The price you pay at Gisella is merited because the food and drinks are all top notch!
December 25, 2009 Overall Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() I went here on Christmas day thinking this would be a good meal for me and my family. We made the reservations two days in advance but I was very dissatisfied. First of all, when we were there (6:30pm), there weren't that many people since it was a bit early, but nonetheless, the service was just not good! When I ordered my main dish and asked if I could order a side, the waiter didn't know that my dish came with the additional side that I wanted. He did not even mention to me that my dish came with a side (or for this sake, the same additional side I wanted) and made me order extra food since it did not state clearly on the menu that every entree comes with a side. The food was mediocre, but bad for it's value since I eat out many times, and the Italian restaurant back at home tastes much better and offers a much lower price. The best dish I have to say from what we ordered was the beef tenderloin, but nevertheless, the other dishes were just mediocre and eaten because of hunger. I would not recommend this restaurant if you want good Italian food.

Gisella is exactly that..fresh ingredients..amazing quality. The service and atmosphere were very impressive. I was extremely surprised to learn that they had only been open two months when I ate there. They are so dialed in! Can't wait to go back.
August 2, 2009 Overall Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gisella is an Italian resto in the old Gusto space, run by the same folks that ran it, apparently into the ground, because of their very reasonably priced bar-food at lunch despite their exorbitantly priced wine prices - my, have things changed! Now, it's open only at night, has a million-dollar metal and glass door, no pizza oven and beautiful people spilling out of their oh so tight jeans and oh so pinched cosmetically sculpted bodies and Jocelyn Wildenstein, aka Jocelynnys Dayannys da Silva Bezerra aka Jocelyn Cano, faces. Our reservation was fine but we arrived a bit early so we ate at the bar and guess what - they now have very reasonably priced bar-food at dinner with exorbitantly priced wine prices (cheapest red = 38 Amurican dollars). Colette had a $13 ($13, you read that right) gazpacho - OK, but nowhere near as good as her own; I had pasta with three funghi, pronounced fungee here, edible but three times the size of a pasta dish in Italy, with quite nice parmigiano shavings, here pronounced parmeejam. With a bottle of that overpriced wine, the bill was $69.65 before tip. John Talbott's Paris
